One of the oldest writer's organizations in continuous operation in the nation. Its members are poets,journalists, essayists, technical writers, and creators of genre and literary fiction, as well as editors, booksellers, and others involved in related fields, all joined together for the common goal of educating its members and the community on the craft of writing and the realities of getting work published.

IWOSC - Independent Writers of Southern California
This group provides writers with several opportunities to get together with other writers each month. IWOSC has casual satellite get-togethers in various areas, holds a seminar most months, and meets regularly which usually includes a panel discussion about a writing-related topic.
The LA Writers Group
Established in 2003, the site runs several writers groups and creative writing workshops throughout the Los Angeles, California area. It provides improvisational writing exercises that writers can apply to their current project or use to create new stories, and host a safe place for writers to create new work and exchange critique on works in progress.
Los Angeles Romance Authors
