Thank you for your interest in discovering dynamic featured speakers for our VCWC meetings.  We are looking for qualified speakers who can provide a fresh perspective on writing.

As a potential speaker, here is what you need to know:

Our 1st Vice President of Programming will be your contact person:

Our meeting is held on the second Tuesday of each month (except December) at the Camarillo Senior Center, 1605 Burnley Street, Camarillo, CA 93010.

The agenda for our meeting is loosely as follows:

7:00 – 7:15   Club business

7:15 – 7:30   Fresh Ink presentation by a newly published member of our club

7:30 – 7:45   Break

7:45 – 8:15   Featured speaker presentation

8:15 – 8:30   Featured speaker Q & A session

You will receive a small honorarium, basically to cover your gas!

Audience size varies from 20-100.  You may bring books to donate or sell after the meeting, if you so desire.  Based on the past, presenters usually give our club members reduced rates and sell about 5 -10 books.

Interested? Send the following to our Programming VP!

  • Your name, email address, phone number and how you heard about us.
  • The proposed title/theme of your talk on writing. You may choose a topic.
  • A bio, photo, and if applicable, a website address.

If you are chosen to be a speaker, VCWC will publish an article about you and your proposed presentation for the club newsletter which comes out prior to the meeting.  A press release will be created to promote your presentation in local media.  Members of our community may attend the meetings free of charge. After your presentation,  a summary of your talk will be published in the club newsletter which comes out following the meeting.
